MemberHey guys, I know I come here every now and again and beg for help with my Samsung net book the fact is I am quite desperate. It is slow and I know I have been here before and received some amazing tuning tips and guides to over clock but I am still struggling with this computer and really needing advice. I researched for a week before choosing my net book for university and I paid £330 for this Samsung N110 and it does not perform at all.
Let me explain, I switch it on and windows 7 Professional will take about 7 minutes before it is usable, this i can live with, But then I open a web browser and it tasks ages t open and when it does and I scroll web pages they don’t move then 10 seconds later all the moving I was dong happens at once, very frustrating!! Then when I am listening to music every time I open a folder or click on something the music stutters and its worse when watching movies. Am I not correct in saying that these are all normal tasks a net-book should be able to perform, I am not playing power demanding games or doing video encoding where I would expect to see the computer struggle.
I have made sure the CPU is running at 100% in the power options and that both cores are running. I also have 2GB of RAM in the computer. I do not want to over-clock, I had a good look into it and decided I don’t want extra power and speed from this machine, I just want it to be fluent enough for home use of web browsing and listening to music.
If anyone can share advice if they have had similar problems with their N110 then I would highly appreciate it!! And I’m sorry that I don’t seem to give much back to the community, I honestly would if I could!
Many thanks,
Ray

ParticipantDeucalion0 – The N110 should run well with Win 7 and you should not be experiencing the slow response you are getting. Especially the 7 minutes boot time, so something is obviously wrong and is probably key to the problems.
If you have McAfee anti-virus still installed I would replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials or something similar (Avast or AVG)
I would suggest regularly running Ccleaner and Auslogics Disk Defrag and check the start up processes (Ccleaner can help with that) and remove anything that is not required including software that is not being used.
If you have applied any tweaks undo them to get back to original build status.
If it were my machine I would completely re-install Win 7 from scratch as that should sort it out.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

MemberGet rid of ALL unnecessary software you can find installed as well – though I am presuming you installed Win 7 Pro yourself as, as far as I’m aware, the N110 only comes with XP or Win 7 Starter, so there may be nothing for you to uninstall…
My N110 with Homed Premium is pretty zippy.

MemberHey SPC quick question. My N110 seems to boot XP a bit slow, but otherwise the performance is great. Any suggestion on tweaks or msconfig settings to decrease boot time? Thanx
