[N110] I can't seem to download any software!!

Hi, my technical knowledge is very limited but basically I can’t seem to download any software such as the Open Office package or free antivirus software. The file starts to download but when I try and open the file it seems to be corrupted, I’m thinking it might be something to do with incomplete downloading??

Does anyone know how to solve this?

If the regular browser (http) downloads are causing problems, try a manager program such as:

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm

This will not only allow you to pause downloads but will also recover corrupted packages!

This is a good guide to Downloading Files Frequently Asked Questions which hopefully will help you.
Save the files to Desktop or My Documents for example, so you can find them easily after the download completes.
If you get the option, right click the link and choose Save Link As..

If you get stuck, just ask 🙂

I ended up downloading stuff onto my USB from my home computer then transferring the files to my netbook. Don’t quite know what the problem was though… Thanks for your help anyway! 🙂
