MemberI have just collected my N110 from PCworld this morning. I will be setting it up later today. I thought I would join the forum as I know I can find a lot of good advice on this forum.
I will post my first thoughts on my N110 when I have set it up.

MemberI have now started to finally use thr N110 after downloading what seemed like hundreds of windows updates!
I have got rid on Macafee and installed Kingsoft anti virus, my prefered anti virus package.
I have installed Kingsoft Office 2009 so I can write and do my spreadsheets.
The keyboard is superb. I can type far faster and with less mistakes than my old Acer Aspire One.
Overall first impressions are very good.

MemberI have now got the N100 working as I want. Just waiting for a 2mb sim to arrive in the post.
It nips along with 1mb and XP. It will be interesting to see what diference the extra 1mb will make.
I may well be upgrading to windows 7 when it is released.

FWIW, I’ve been using the beta version of W7 since it was first released and I’ve now installed the RC on my NC10 and my main Dell laptop. The new OS is very stable, fast, responsive and looks really cool:Hope that helps 🙂

MemberIs the N110 pretty painless to upgrade to 7 RC? I figure I may as well play around with the RC until it’s released at retail since I’ll have to do a fresh install to upgrade from XP to 7 any way I look at it.

MemberUnder the skin, the N110 is pretty much the same machine as the NC10. So, there is no reason why the N110 shouldn’t run W7.
Also, I updated my main Dell XPS laptop from Vista SP2 to W7. Again that was a simple install and the Dell runs so much better with W7 than with Vista.
Hope that helps 🙂

MemberIs the Window 7 download (is it the beta) time limited? And, if I purchase Win 7 can I install it on all 3 of my machines or is it limited to one install?

See TCMuffin’s very informative post over on the Windows 7 forum Win 7 BetaI would think you need to purchase 1 licence per machine?

One license = one machine 🙁or to put it another way:
3 machines = 3 licenses = ~£200 :((
[EDIT] Having said this, I’ve just read an article in the Register which reports that Windows 7 Home Premium may include a family pack license.

MemberHey everyone! So I just took the plunge and ordered my N110 a couple of days ago. Can’t wait till it gets here! I’d spent a long time trying to choose a netbook, flip flopping back and forth between different brands and types. Thought I was sold on the EEEPC 1005HA-P, but then I saw this. Specs are a little lower, but none of the problems that had been seen with the Asus. Anyway, I just thought I’d say that I’m glad to be joining the Sammy netbook community. I know I joined the site a while ago with questions on the NC 10, but now I feel official, like its a badge 🙂
