Sorry – have no clue what I’m doing here (in this forum or on my computer). Made a mistake when posting earlier. Want to know best way to partition hard drive on new Samsung N150 netbook. Some have advised unequal partitioning between C and D. Samsung install instructions suggest half and half. The OS is Win7. Should I only leave enough space on C drive for system recovery on C and the rest on D? How much is enough? 25GB 30GB 40GB? Advice?
I would recommend against partitioning the hdd. Better to keep your backup on an external hdd. If the ball bearings in your netbook’s hdd break, you won’t be able to access the partition anyway. Dell’s got a $250 external portable hdd rightnow for just $50.
shallcross – Welcome to the forum
The default 50:50 drive split is fine to choose and will most likely suit your operating needs. The partition sizes and quantity can easily be altered later with software such as Easeus Partition Manager which is very good and free.
Hope this helps
