MemberI just got my NC 20 on Thursday from ebuyer for about £379. Its an up-grade from my current Asus Eee PC 701 which I mainly use to connect to a 32″ LCD at work to play some divx TV programs on my lunch.
I got the NC 20 as I wanted to use it for same purpose but also for a better internet experience and as a replacement for my old 15.4″ Sony laptop I sold recently.
My first impressions were good, as I love the extra screen size and the keyboard is a lot better than my Eee. I do have a few concerns though which are making me less happy.
1. Battery life looks like about 3.5-4 hours for me at present with me playing lots of videos
2. The video quality on the screen and with VGA out does not seem as good as my Eee on the same tv with the same videos, It looks a bit fuzzy on some videos?
3. I new the sound was not going to be great but I cant hear some of the sounds on You Tube videos even with the max volume settings?
Is there anything I can do to improve these?
I have installed Zoom video player as I had read it plays 720p videos better on the NC20 than VLC. I will try VLC as I don’t like the way Zoom pauses every time I click the video image.
I have also done an un-boxing video on You Tube if anyones interested

Memberwhat’s not to like about that battery life?
if you boot into the bios and change the processor to power saving mode and the memory to power saving mode you’ll get about 7-8 hours on the lowest light setting, which goes down to about 5 or so if you’re watching videos. that’s good enough to get me across a cross-country flight.if you really want to up the battery life, you can get the 9-cell off a 3rd party site. otherwise, i think it’s about as good as it gets for a netbook these days.
