MemberOk step by step:
1) format usb stick to FAT32 (I think even 256Mb is enough)
2) Download this Android Iso file : http://android-x86.googlecode.com/files/android-x86-1.6-r2.iso
3) Download Unetbootin from here : http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
4) Run Unetbootin
5) Choose Diskimage -> ISO and browse for the file from 2
6) Make sure you write to the correct stick (check drive letter)
7) Power off your computer and start it up again.
8) Choose in the boot install to run from stick.Wifi works on NC10

MemberNice one Carpetboy,
Thanks for the tutorial, I think that a few people here will play 🙂

ParticipantCarpetboy – That’s good news.
Thanks for reporting back, I’ll give it a whirl and see how it performs 🙂

MemberSorry for bumping up an old(ish) topic. It installed fine, however on reboot it seems it becomes corrupted somehow (blank screen with blinking cursor). Installed it onto a SanDisk Cruzer, SD and MicroSD card (tried NTFS, ext2 and ext3).

MemberNo worries on the bumping. Might make a blog post out of this.
So did you try again?
Anyone get a photo of Android on a Sammy?

Participantstingerblue – I didn’t get round to trying Carpetboy’s method as I got side tracked testing Android roms on my HD2 phone. The good news is that dual boot Froyo 2.2/Win Mobile 6.5 works a treat 🙂
Btw I’ve experienced the problem of corruption on second boot as well but alternative builds corrected that. Maybe there are other suitable ported Froyo builds available for the NC10, as things will no doubt have moved on in the last few months.
I’ll get back to testing it out on the sammy and post back with results in a few days.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but was hoping if any has had any new success on this. I was able to load android 1.6 from usb but not 2.2 and was not able to install to harddisk either one. Wifi doesn’t work also. I did upgrade my wireless adapter to: ASUS PCE-N13 IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Wireless Adapter so not sure if that made a difference.

MemberI’ve just been running Android-x86 2.2-r2 on my NC20 with wifi. Web browsing is jerky but everything else works fine.
Wondering which is the best build. I chose the ASUS Eee netbook build but maybe there’s a better one?
