I have been using Windows 7 for a couple of weeks now and I’m very impressed so far.
I dual boot with the installed XP installation. I have 2mb memory installed.
All my programs I have installed on my XP installation work apart from the Samsung supplied utillities due to the fact they are disigned to work under XP.
I use AVF free antivirus and the Pctools free fire wall.
As well as Wifi, I use a O2 mobile broadband dongle. This works with the latest software off the O2 website.
On my N110 I find the boot time is slow. However no slower than XP once all the utilities and drivers have loaded.
I have used the Samsung R510 touchpad driver for Vista as it works under Windows 7.
I have pre ordered the home version of Windows 7 which will replace XP on my N110.
Just a last point. When I surf the Softpedia site under XP using Firefox 3.5 I find it is very slow and jerky. So I use Internet explorer to view the site. However under Windows 7 I can surf Softpedia with Firefox 3.5 with no problems.
I’m still running Windows 7. I reinstalled and got rid of XP completely. I plan to upgrade to ultimate home version when it arrives in late October.
I have installed the Vista easy display manager for the R510 laptop. it works a treat and so far the function keys all seem to work.
The Vista easy battery manager doesn’t load or work so I just use the windows default.
I do have Vista on my Asus laptop and I do think 7 is better.
I had Vista on my main Dell laptop, but as a result of my experiences with my NC10, I replaced Vista with 7. I’ve preordered copies of 7 – Home for my NC10 and Pro for my Dell.
IMO, 7 over XP is the greatest improvement in Windows OSs since Windows Me was replaced by W2K.
