Hi
I am having a problem getting HDMI working between my N510 and a Panasonic TV. Picture quality is excellent but the sound is extremely distorted. Sound quality through external speakers and headphones is excellent, and as good as expected through the N510’s speakers.
I am using Windows XP and the “NVIDIA High Definition Audio” sound device (version 1.0.0.50) as specified in the manual.
I have tried various media sources (mp3, HD video clips) and various software (the CyberLink DVD player that was pre-installed, Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic) with no improvement.
The TV is a Panasonic TX-L32S10B and I have tried using each of its HDMI inputs.
I don’t have other HDMI devices or cables, so would like to rule out any configuration issues before I try to borrow cables etc.
Any help appreciated.
Problem solved:
I installed updated HDMI audio drivers from http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/hdmi_audio_…0.00.59_uk.html and the sound is now OK.
I’m afraid I fell into the “It’s new hardware, the manufacturer knows what it’s doing, therefore the drivers must be up to date” trap.
I should have known better.
