I keep hearing the NC10 has a matte screen
and the N110 has a glossy screen and so will the NC20
Has anyone seen these two computers side by side?
Is the glossy screen a deal breaker?
Does it suck?
The glossy screen provides a better quality image which is noticable when you have two side by side. I also find them easier on the eyes when it comes to flat screen computers.
When I bought my NC20 one of things that concerned me was if the glossy screen was going to impact my user experince, and so far I can only say that it has enhanced it.
Just to be Devil’s advocate – I have tried both glossy and matte, I prefer the matte. I would suggest trying to view both in a shop to see how you feel, if possible.
+1 for a matte screen, but it is a matter of personal preference and as Tony says, if at all possible, you need to see a matte and glossy screen together in different lights to see which you prefer.
I’ve been using a macbook with a glossy screen for a couple of years now, and its been great- except in direct sunlight. I basically only used my mac indoors, so this wasn’t much of a problem, but I want to bring my netbook around outside, instead of hiding from the sun all the time! If it wasn’t summer, I might not have taken this fact into account. Just FYI
I greatly prefer the matte screen– more versatile when working outside or in bright light, particularly near outside light. The glossy screen is great in low-light situations… glossy also picks up fingerprints RELENTLESSLY 🙂
