Hi guys… first post 🙂
Just bought my first netbook, an N220 and a smart bit of kit it is indeed 🙂
What I would like to do is stick a fresh copy of windows 7 on (same as I would if I bought any system) so I’ve made my bootable USB stick (using a mac, used the diskutil method from here: http://gizmodo.com/5257386/how-to-install-windows-7-on-almost-any-netbook)…
I’ve then held down F2 upon boot and set the stick as the first boot device, but it doesn’t actually boot, so then I removed the HDD from the list as a test and it comes up “no operating system found”…
Have I maybe done something wrong at the USB stick making stage (although it all went seemingly to plan) or is there something I’m missing?
as a second question, will everything work out of the box or should I install a few drivers etc?
You can ignore the main question chaps, I started again but used a windows machine (using the diskpart method) to create the stick, all is well now..
would still like to know about my second question though 🙂 – which drivers etc should I slip into my fresh new install 🙂
