Hey everyone
Wondering if anyone can help me. I recieved my NC10 about 5 days ago. Since then i havn t done much to it except install 2gb more ram and put fedora 10 onto it. Heres the problem:
I messed up the fedora install. I wanted to give it 50gb which is the size of the D partition but instead managed to give it only 8 gb. Which is not enough. I ve tried everything i know to resize it but can’t. My wonderful friend ( sarcasm) decided in his wisdom to use the samsung recovery solution and now my xp install is back to square one. It boots up fine into xp now though and dosen t seem to go through GRUB but the E drive where F10 is located, still takes up room.
Im only going to use the nc10 now with xp as i have decided i don t need F10 ( already got it on another laptop i use for work, so the nc10 is only for web surfing and playing some games/ writing a few docs and other stuff)
How can i get rid of the fedora install keeping in mind i can t access it now.
I basically want to get back to the situation of only having xp installed and nothing else with the 50gb D partition still there and C taking the rest.
Any help? Starting to lose my mind!
Thank you
You should only need to delete the Fedora partitions and then create an NTFS formatted partition in their place. Though I’m not sure how the partitions are now setup as you gave Fedora 8GB.
From Windows try this:
1) Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
2) From the tree select Disk Management
From here you should be able to select the partitions Fedora created and delete them, once you have done that you should be able to create a new partition in the empty space an format it as NTFS.
You could use other software like Easus Partition Manager, or run something like gParted off a Linux live disk.
