MemberI have just installed Windows 7 on my NC10 , everything seems ok except the screen brightness was low and when I tried F5 to increase brightness I discovered no F keys were operating. I searched for driver updates for NC10 and despite extensive looking and finding broken/old links there are no driver updates , infact on samsungs own website the page was empty for NC10 driver updates . Can someone help? Is getting the driver updates the only way around this ? Or am I doomed to no F keys and a dim screen with Windows 7 and only option to go back to XP?

ParticipantDoes the Samsung site not look like this to you (in the screenshot below I’m on the Software page, though the Driver and Firmware page both work as well)?
The site seems to be working fine for me, I can download the various drivers, software and firmware ok. Which you will need to get everything fully functional. When you do get on the site ok, my first post in this thread may help, though it’s just my opinion.
You should be able to download all the necessary software from the site and unzip it using Windows built in decompression utility.
To get to that page I hovered over Support in the top right corner then clicked on Downloads, then searched for NC10. From the search results I clicked on NC10.
EDIT: As a temporary fix for the dim screen, try going into the BIOS (press F2 at startup) and up the brightness there by pressing [Fn] + [Up]. If Windows isn’t controlling the brightness it should stay at that brightness level.
EDIT2: BTW F5 toggles the backlight on and off, it doesn’t increase/decrease the backlight brightness, to do that you need to press [Fn] + [Up]/[Down].

Participantskkqq – Welcome to the forum
If you are visiting the UK Samsung download site you may have to turn off blocking pop-ups in your browser.
An alternative download site is here you may have better luck with.
For keyboard brightness control Samsung Easy Display Manager has to be installed to allow [FN] + [Up/Down Arrow] to function. However without this installed the brightness would normally be on full.
Check the Win 7 brightness control with Windows Mobility Centre [WinKey] + [X] where the display brightness can be controlled.Hope this helps and let us know how you get on
