MemberI hope nobody else downloaded the next day’s giveaway. I did 🙁
AyRecovery – I am still recovering!! It seemed to trash the MBR, so I have now just done an unplanned reinstall of Win 7.
I got it early yesterday, I should have waited and read the reviews. I read them today so decided to do a System Restore to 5 am yesterday morning to get rid of it.
If installing it was mistake number 1 then that was mistake number 2. Even after registering and rebooting it hadn’t seemed to register properly, but it decided to complete its installation during my System Restore reboot.
That was it then, BSOD, restart, BSOD, restart. Windows found no OS to repair, so I reinstalled. I am still loading programs now. I still have all of my data, but I need to buy a drive to keep a mirror on I think.
Easeus should be safe, but for any unknown program at GAOTD I will make sure I read a lot of reviews first.

MemberI installed Ayrecovery on both mine and my wifes laptops with no problems whatsoever. My wife runs windows 7 and I run windows XP. Both laptops are working fine.
I wonder what happened to your system….

Participanttonytb – I too saw the GAOTD offering but I was lucky enough to have seen it later in the evening and by which time I had the advantage of reading all the comments. From what I read I decided it was a disaster waiting to happen so I passed it by.
To anybody that has installed it I would urge them to read the comments since apparently it is not possible to make any system changes ie. partition sizes etc. without un-installing the software else it will trash the system.
You have my sympathy having to re-build and it reminds me of the time MSE trashed my system not so long ago 😛

MemberI t wasn’t the greatest fun way to spend a Sunday, but hey, we live and learn.
There are a couple of good comments there, so maybe it does work sometimes. Speed, beware, it was as I attempted to ditch it that things went wrong. I wish you better luck than I had.

MemberI was really glad it worked after reading some of the horror other people have encoutered.
