MemberCurrently have the NC10 with Wireless N mod and 250Gb 7200 Hard drive, more than happy with it and use it everyday.
However, been easy pray for new toys 🙂 I am looking at moving my NC10 on and getting a new model, my dilema is whether to go for the N210 or the NB30.
I generally use the netbook for work as I travel around many sites and its a lot easier than lugging my XPS M1710 around.
Looks are not really important…currently the NC10 has the New 3M Di-Noc cover on as I’m not really one for shiney stuff.
I Initially though sound quality would be important, BUT have found with my NC10 its very very rare I listen to music.
What is important is Battery life and the keyboard, being a touch typist I find the keyboard being the most important thing to me.
Looking at the 220 and the NB30 I think they are more or less the same, hard drive capacity is’nt an issue as I have a good few spare 500Gb 7200 drives.
I THINK I am edging towards the NB30 unless anyone can pursade me otherwise 🙂
Does anyone know if the NB30 has space for a secondary card inside ??
Any advice would be appreciated.

Participantgtech – Welcome to the forum
My advice FWIW would be to perhaps stick with the modded NC10 and perhaps get a 9 cell battery if longer battery life is an important issue to you. If you currently have an earlier NC10 model it will have the 10.2″ screen and all later models, N210 etc. have 10.1″ screens which are about 0.25″ smaller in height which may be worth taking into consideration as several forum members have complained strongly about the reduction in viewable screen size.
From what I have seen the later models are focused more on the aesthetics than increased performance which still remains on a plateau IMO and I’ve not been tempted to change our NC10’s by what’s on offer. Having said that If I had to get a replacement I would go for the N220 UK model fitted with the Broadcom Crystal HD decoder built in.
To my knowledge none of the later models come fitted with the second slot pci-e connector soldered in but I understand that they have a vacant second slot.
If the keyboard is important then try out the new chiclet keyboards but the NC10 keyboard is fine for my purposes as a two fingered typist 🙂
I have read reports of users sending their NB30 machines back due to the shorter ‘real world’ battery life (approx 4-6 hours) compared to the N210 and N220 models so check out the reviews before making the final decision. This thread may be of interest but if all depends on the battery capacity fitted in your geographic market location.
The N230 newest model is purporting 12 hours but I’ve not read any reviews to establish the real typical battery usage time.
Hope this helps

MemberWelcome to the forum Graeme,
I believe that jeepers01’s advice above is all very sound.
I too own an original NC10, and despite all of the ‘improvements’ I really think that I would regret losing that apparently tiny bit of screen. My next netbook, and yes I have lusted after the new incarnations as they emerged, would have to be much better than they are at this time.
If you are intent on buying a replacement then the rest of the advice above is worth taking note of.
