Desttop icons dont seem to resond any ideas?

Got my new N220 yesterday and I thought all was working.
Today my desktop icons dont seem to respond to the cursor at all.
Does anyone know what is wrong. I am new to windows 7 and netbooks so may have accidentally turned something off.
I can get into programs by going to start button its just annoying not being able to use the icons.

For now its back on seems to be intermittent.Sometimes turning netbook off and on again works sometimes it doesnt.
Sorry my typing is abit off in the question still trying to get used to slightly smaller keys.

I don’t suppose you live with a practical joker, do you?

The only way I know of apparently stopping desktop icons from working is a trick, and certainly not a feature.

Aside from that I can’t think why that might happen.
