April 28, 2009 at 12:03 pm #162042martin MemberI get the RSS feed of the new schtuff on dealextreme and I saw that today they got the 9 cell battery for less than $60. I’ve ordered one and will post my comments when I try it out. I have been waiting for them to get more NC10 parts for a LONG time. (The keyboard cover they sell doesn’t seem to look like a fit for my UK style keyboard). April 28, 2009 at 3:15 pm #190111ScottB MemberSome people have reported that there have been issues with the battery meter not showing accurate time remaining with the 9 cell battery. So, please report back once you’ve installed yours. Thanks! April 29, 2009 at 12:06 am #190110Renton MemberI noticed the bios has an option to recalibrate the battery monitor by simply running it completely flat to see how much actual juice it has, this would probably help with the 9 cell. I did this when I first got my sammy SE after only getting 7 hours of continuous use, little did I know the ‘9.5’ hours quoted were somewhat exagerated 🙁 I’ll be very interested to see how you go with this one, might pick one up myself. [/quote1240994935]😀 Lol, the only thing I’m concerned about is when Sammy goes out in public and gets stares from all the skinny netbooks with their slender behinds…… April 29, 2009 at 9:48 am #190079claudio_o Memberonly in black pff 🙁 April 29, 2009 at 9:55 am #190077jez Member[quote1240998907=s162000]

As a middle aged woman, I can confirm that skinny behinds are much over rated !lolApril 30, 2009 at 6:31 am #190107Airwolf Member3rd party batteries scare me. I have seen too many exploded PSP’s, iPod’s, and laptops in my time to feel safe with anything but a factory battery and factory battery charger. I’d especially be worried about using one from DX. Granted, I purchase stuff from there from time to time (when I dont mind waiting 1-2 months to receive it), but everything I have bought from there has been chintzy at best. Chances are yours will work fine. Personally, I wouldnt trust a 3rd party battery any more than I would trust a Peugeot to be a reliable car. April 30, 2009 at 11:27 am #190099martin MemberMy order status is currently in “packaging” and then it takes about a week or two to reach Sweden. 😉 I’ll be share to take some photos and get some usage stats. /M May 2, 2009 at 2:19 am #190114plasmo Member[quote1241230654=martin]

[/quote1241230654]Thanks for the info… was hoping that Dealextreme was from the USA, but looks like Hong Kong just like all the other ones on Ebay. Yes, let us know how it runs on your NC10, regarding the Battery meter usage and your estimated battery life! May 2, 2009 at 3:11 am #190109orb9220 MemberI feel peoples fears of 3rd party batteries are over exaggerated. Yes you can play it safe and only order the manufacture one and for some items at exorbitant prices. I have used and know many that have used 3rd party batteries in many items. I personally have used 3rd party batteries in my Nikon D40,D80 and D90 and Panasonic FZ7 cameras with no problems. And have used 3rd party in half-a-dozen laptops over the years with zero problems. Yes from time to time a bad version or batch will hit the market and there will be 20 cases of horror posted in multiple forums and blogs. What they forget to mention is the other 5000 batteries operating normally. Or the Tens of Thousands from other 3rd party around the world running just fine. There are Good 3rd party and Bad 3rd party. And I don’t just group them all together as bad. And the Bad usually disappear from the market pretty fast. May 3, 2009 at 1:37 pm #190090lizzie MemberI’m looking forward to seeing how well this works! I’m tempted to get it myself. May 9, 2009 at 2:54 am #190115plasmo Member[quote1241837630=martin]
