Dead NC10.

My NC10 will not start.
When I push the power button the blue light comes on, the hdd starts and after a few seconds the hdd led comes on and goes off straight away,and nothing else happens.
The screen remains blank.
I have taken the hdd out and it is ok, also i have changed the memory.
Should the fan come on when you power up or only when it gets hot?

Have you tried removing the battery and running from mains only. Could be a defective battery.

john66 – Probably a motherboard hardware problem. Got any warranty left?

ye thats what I thought.
It is well over 12 months old now so no warranty left

john66 – Might be worth resetting the bios to defaults.

Try a bootable USB stick with Ubuntu Netbook Remix. At least that would rule out the hdd/controller.
Re-check the ram seating.
