had one of these in the shop today. The fault was “white screen”
I pulled the screen out of the unit, attached it directly to the cable, turned unit back on, Blank screen (no lights nothing, BLACK) sat the screen down on the unit and the light came on, was still blank white, moved screen off unit, light went out, this kept repeating until my head clicked. We’ve got a bad ground, might explain white screens with power plugged in (other thread) .
So i set about re-earthing the screen to the unit. got some thin wire, trapped it between the lcd and the hinge (two screwes left side)
routed the cable in to the unit and trapped the other end under a screw on the heatsink. Turned the unit back on, YAY, we have an image.
so further thinking, Samsung are possibly using the shield of the screen and the hinge as the return current (ground) for the signal cable. The hinge wears out abit, electrical connection fails. Jumpering the screen to the main board seems to be the best fix.

This was my first attempt, which worked, tho I’ve since changed out the split single runs for a continuous run from lcd mount to heatsink (these pics are the first attempt before i realised the hinge cover would foul the wire)
