MemberLike others I want to reduce the size of the C drive (currently C & D are equal size).
I have tried three different programs which people have mentioned and all three refuse to work.
1) Easus Partition Manager Home Edition – just shows one 160gb block labelled “Bad Disk”.
2) Paragon Partition Manager 9_express – fails to intialise when “Resize” partition pressed.
3) gparted – shows one 160gb block labelled “Unallocated”.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?
I wanted to keep my data but unless I find a solution it seems I would have to do a complete re-install of everything after repartitioning the complete drive (assuming that function works). If this is the only solution, is there any point in even trying to create the hidden recovery partition? What benefit is it?
Thanks,March 19, 2009 at 7:02 pm #187014TCMuffin
MemberWelcome to the forum, Kerrware 🙂
Sounds like your MBR is corrupt. If you can boot from a USB stick loaded with Windows XP you should be able to fix the MBR using the recovery console.
You cannot recreate the hidden recovery partition – only Samsung can do this.

MemberDid you download the latest version of Gparted?
I just repartitioned mine last weekend to create a new partition for Win 7. I originally tried using an older copy of Gparted and it wouldn’t run. But, when I went and downloaded the latest (I forget the version number) it worked perfectly.March 24, 2009 at 8:18 pm #187016Kerrware
MemberThanks for responses.
In the end I decided to start from scratch and re-install XP, re-partitioning the drive as part of the install. After installing XP I then ran the System Software Disk and installed all the Samsung apps listed on the main panel. Everything seems fine except for the Bluetooth connection.
I tried re-installing just Bluetooth as suggested in one of the earlier forum posts (using the folder BASW-01178A on the software disk) but still get the same result.
When I try and start the Bluetooth device from system tray icon I get the following message:
“Bluetooth license check failed. Please make sure that the
Bluetooth device is plugged in/turned on, the device you are
using is licensed for this software and that your license has not expired.”
Any ideas?Thanks
