MemberHello everybody…
I have a big problem with my Sammy N140 W7 ultimate, about one week ago I have BOSD with this error message “nmi: parity check memory parity error” I’ve checked my RAM and everything it’s Ok, My ram it’s original of Samsung (no changes at all) the system was running ok, but this problem started suddenly.
I’ve noticed that this error only appears when I’ve connected my sammy with my router Wifi and I’m playing music or watching something with WMP. Driver Problems????
I’ve seen that somebody has had the same error than me, It’s possible??? The solution is to install the old drivers for WLan card???, but how?????
Any help would be important. Thanks in advance..

MemberI only solved this by reinstalling the O/S fresh.
(Most of my ‘failures’ were while using WMP…)

MemberI have an NC10 with windows 7 Pro (32 Bit) and since October I’ve been getting the same error.
*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The System has halted ***
I replaced the memory with a new Kingston 2 GB chip but still get the BSOD. It only occurs when I’m A) Viewing flash videos online and B) Playing Spider Solitaire on my laptop.
I’ve wondered if it was some update that was pushed by Microsoft. Every now and then I get the message that my Intel GMA encountered a problem and successfully restarted.December 24, 2010 at 9:48 am #217474__spc__
MemberI gave up trying to pinpoint the software that caused the BSOD – generally WMP12, but not always.

MemberMe too, since about a week ago – on a dual boot (XP/Win 7 Home Premium) NC10.
I’m just now installing Win7 Pro over the top to see if that cures the problem. If not, I guess it’s a clean install I’ll need.
I’ll report back.
This would appear to be related to some particular update and is, to an extent, Samsung-specific, so it would be nice to think (however unlikely) that the company is looking into it and trying to sort out the cause.

MemberSince November I have been having the same problem with Win 7 Pro – BSOD with the same error when watching videos on NetFlix or youtube. The weird thing is I can watch a full movie or several video clips one day with no problems and then on another day watch a 30 sec. clip and poof BSOD. Quite annoying!
Did the full re-install help? I never had the problem with win-xp and actually had great performance with it.

MemberI did a Samsung Recovery restore to the original state (the back up created when you first switch the machine on). I then let Win7 do its updates thing (for a couple of hours!) and did an SRS4 backup. I then put back on my software (MS Office etc.) and did another backup.
The system has been running nicely ever since (and I have two backups to revert to if necessary).
I recommend this course of action to get rid of the BSOD issue. (Just wish I could have identified the driver culprit)!

MemberWell…… finally. I resolve this problem when i restored the old driver of Wlan card. Since that no problem at all. In my case my sammy only got this error when I were surfing the net and the same time playing music with WMP……… I think that I`ve read in this forum tha t somebody had this error and he reolved it restored the old drivers of wlan Atheros card. You can uninstalling the last update of th Wlan card i think it’s the same result….
Hope this helps¡¡¡¡

MemberMy Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adaptor driver is version: 8.0.0.351, Date 09/06/2010.
The latest driver available from Samsung Support (http://tinyurl.com/364qujn) is version: 8.0.0.225, Date 21/12/2009.
I have had a quick search using Google and can’t find any later drivers than those I’m using now.
Maybe the problem is NOT related to the latest drivers?
(FYI, I have Win7 Home Premium, fully updated – note, I don’t install ANY of the Windows Live software/updates)

ParticipantI have not experienced the BSOD issues on my NC10 but have found these drivers to be stable in Win 7 HP.
Atheros AR5007EG – 8.0.0.279
LAN (Marvell Yukon 88E8040) 11.22.3.9Hope this helps

MemberThe latest driver I can find for the 5007EG is 9.2.0.113, might be worth a try. SWMBO’s laptop has this card installed, I got the drivers from http://www.atheros.cz

MemberI had a feeling that it was either the Atheros WLAN driver or the Intel Graphics driver so last night I installed Atheros WLAN version 9.0.0.173. This morning I’ve spent the past 2+ hours on youtube running videos and have not encountered a BSOD. The Atheros driver prior to this version might be the culprit.

MemberUPDATE: January 3rd, 2011 – I have not had any further BSODs since I replaced the Atheros WLAN driver. I have also noticed a significant improvement in system performance. Prior to the driver update my menus were very sluggish. Now they “pop” out real fast like they did when the system was new. Hope this info helps the rest of you with similar issues. Happy New Year
