MemberI purchased a white nc10 which has not shipped yet. The company I bought one from is offering me a blue one if i would like that instead of the white. I have heard the black is “too glossy” and shows too many finger print marks. I’m guessing the blue is the same but haven’t seen one. Does anyone have any feedback on the blue NC10 in regards to just the color? thanks!

MemberThe blue does have a gloss lid but my main concern with the white was the keyboard showing dirt. Maybe its me but my previous almost white keyboard looked really grubby after some use and often required cleaning.
Personally, I would go for the blue but then I have a blue one!

MemberI have a blue and while it is glossy, I personally think the concern over fingerprints is a bit over-hyped. Yes, it does pick them up, but they aren’t glaringly obvious and are easy to wipe away.
Some people have concerns about the white looking more grubby as it picks up dirt. This should only really be a problem if you go around with filthy hands and don’t give it a wipe if a smudge appears.
Basically, I’d say don’t worry about the negative aspects of either colour, just pick the one that you like most. Generally concerns come from people who haven’t seen one and when they do, they find the problems are nowhere near as bad as they thought. I don’t think I’ve seen a single owner complain about fingerprints or grubbiness etc. 🙂

MemberThanks for the reply’s. One of my concern’s with a netbook was that some i’ve seen do not look “professional”. I don’t want to look like i’m playing with a toy when in seminar’s, meeting’s etc. That being said, i’m not sure one color looks more professional than any other of the same notebook. I’m going to stick with the white one as I have the ms cashback deal going on this idem and want to make sure i get that rebate. Since i purchased the white one on ebay, i should probably stick with it. Thanks for the reply’s! Bill.

MemberBlack ones run applications 10% faster 😉
Sorry, a reference from another forum far, far away – Anyway, I’d agree that the issue of fingerprints is a little overhyped. Sure they look a bit unsightly, but will easily wipe off whereas the inevitable grime that will discolour a white NC10 over time will not.
I got a black one (never even considered white) and I’m very happy with it.
