I want to try updating the bios on my N 220, to see if it can fix the missing key strokes thing thats annoying me,
i got the bios update from samsung.com, the latest one released on the 1st of april, 08JI, tried to run it, but it wouldent let me, said it wasnt the right one for my netbook,
just checked my bios, and i have 02JG,
any ideas what i’m doing wrong??
the error i got was: “the bios/micom model to be updated is different, check the program, current model (bios part number) : n220(ob6), new model (bios part number) : ()
You’re not doing anything wrong, I have a N220 and have had the same problem with all BIOS updates.
I’ve no idea if there is someone at Samsung we can contact, but then again there is no information about what these updates do anyway, and whether or not they sort out some of the outstanding issues with the N220.
maybe give the guyz at samsung a buzz. I think they also did that for the N210, because i remember a bios update didn’t work, however that seems to be fixed.
well i’m stumped,
samsung arent replying, theres been no updates to the bios on their page, i tired to install it again, still get the same result.
surely someone knows how to sort this, this is a lovely netbook except for the damn keystroke issue,
damn it, wish i could sort this out,
i love this netbook, it does al my laptop used to do, but in a smaller package, and more importiantly, it pulls a max of 2 amps when charging, which is importiant when in my motorhome running on battery power, the laptop pulled 6 amps,
not that i have to charge this up much, i’m getting well over 6 hours battery life, even with the screen brightness up to see in the sunlight when i was sat outside at the weekend.
i just wish i could sort out the missing keystrokes thing, and this netbook would be perfect.
An update has been posted today at the Samsung website.
