My employer presented me with a compliments card, which is a sort of preloaded debit card, as a reward for completing 25 years’ hard labo(u)r. (You can find details of the card at http://www.complimentscard.co.uk .)
Unfortunately, most of the places that seem to stock the NC-10 (let alone -20 etc.) won’t accept the card; Argos do, but they rarely have one in stock (and my card notes say Argos – till only), and don’t look like they’re going to carry the blue one (though they now do carry the pink one); Comet may stock the black one. In particular, DSG (PCWorld and Currys) won’t take the card. (Frustrating, as every branch now seems to have a nice blue one!)
I’m puzzled that more places don’t take it: if there’s a retailer reading this that does, please email me! (If there’s one who doesn’t but tries it, I’d be interested to hear if there’s some awkward term preventing you from doing so.)

I eventually went to Selfridges – the big London department store. They had all four colours of the NC10 (black, blue, pink, white), side by side – bit more expensive than elsewhere, but when you’ve got to use the card … but I’d also seen an NC20 in another shop (first I’d heard of it), and Selfridges had one on display … in white … and when told they had black, I went for a McDonalds, then came back and plumped for it (a black one I mean). Very pleased with it so far (though haven’t used it much). (Must stop looking at netbook/laptop prices now. They always drop fastest just after you’ve bought!)
