MemberHeres the link to the Acer wifi driver, works great with my Apple Airport & Time Capsule, unlike the piece of crap driver that ships with the Sammy.

MemberI also had the similar problem in the beginning. What router are you using (make + model?)
Try upgrading the firmware for the router. Also try first stopping, then starting the Wireless Zero Configuration Utility in services. Important to stop it, not just to check its running.[quote1228164897=biggmat]
Had my nc10 for about 5 days now and have had similar problem to original post. I didn’t have any troubles connecting, never had, it’s keeping the connection that’s been the problem. I’ve tried everything, 4 different drivers, any and all different combos of encryption, firewalls on and off, and my connection will last for anywhere from 10 seconds to 20 minutes, but then it falls off. Sometimes it’ll come back in a few seconds, sometimes if I “repair” it’ll start up,and sometimes I have to restart to get it giong… Needless to say, pain. big pain. But to make things even more weird, even if I use an external adapter it does the same thing. I’ve got two other computers in the house running vista(nc10-xp) and they work fine, always have, always will. What’s giong on? Any suggestions would be appreciated. There was a driver mentioned that worked for the original post, if he/she can let me know what that was I’ll try it(an older drive, I’ve tried one, but it didn’t work). I’ve got a version of vista upgrade that I’m thinking of trying, but I’m not sure if I should just send this back and get a new one or keep on going. Again, if anyone’s got any more ideas, let me know, that would be greatly appreciated. thanks

MemberI have a similar issue (I just got my Sammy today). Though the wireless signal is always detected, I can only connect to it about 75% of the time. Even then, I can only actually establish online access about 25% of the time. Interestingly, once I actually establish a working connection, it stays working. However, I often have to use the “Repair” routine in XP just to get a connection that allows me to go online, and sometimes even doing it six and seven times in a row produces nothing. Whenever I restart the NC10 I need to run the “Repair” process at least once.
This is exceptionally annoying and I can only hope that this doesn’t happen with the wireless access at my university (I suppose I’ll find out about that tomorrow). I tried upgrading to the latest driver from the Samsung site–it seems to help a little bit, but not much. Interestingly, when I’m having trouble connecting, if I move to within two feet of my wireless router I can usually get a connection. If I move any further away, it winks back out.
Sorry for the wordiness, but I’m trying to be as specific as possible. I have a 2Wire 802.11b wireless network, just for the record. I’m thinking that the Atheros wireless receiver in the Sammy isn’t playing nice with my router.

[/quote1228183960]Thank you so much! That worked perfectly! I still have yet to test it further, but a series of reboots has so far produced instant and consistent Internet access every time. I’ll leave the original body of my post for the benefit of those with a similar problem as I had and who need this solution. I’ll be sure to follow up if anything goes amiss.

MemberI’ve had no issues with my Wi-Fi connection at all, via my ISP’s wireless modem, once my NC10 was setup. I haven’t used Wi-Fi for extended lengths of time however, 1+ hour, but I have been using it up to that time on numerous occasions. I updated the drivers recently, as per the post on another thread, from the Samsung website, so that may be a reason as to why.

MemberNo problems with WiFi here either. US generic white Sammy bought 2 weeks ago from from Amazon. It has worked 7 hours plus per day both on my Home network (Dlink) and my University network (Mobilenet).

hi, i am in the same situation. Connecting to the Time capsule, the NC10 often drops the connection itself. Then i have to reset the ip again, it does help but very annoying. However, when i connect to the BT router, it seems hasn’t lose any signal at all. So weird! I think the problem should be caused by the time capsule not the netbook itself.
[/quote1231439842]Eric, I see that you posted this on Nov 24, 08. Did this ever get resolved for you? I picked up the NC10 a week ago and have had similar issues with the Time Capsule. While I see full strength in the connection, drop outs seem to be happening and is quite frustrating while surfing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

MemberDitto for me, Garagemonkeysan! Pogo68, THANK YOU. I created a username here just to post my thanks.
There is nothing more discouraging than having a brand new computer not work for no apparent reason. The old wifi driver listed below did the trick (updating to the newest driver did not help AT ALL). Weird. Anyway, hopefully this will help someone else; clearly some NC10s shipped out buggy. What a shame. Just glad mine works now. Thanks again.
