Acer aspire one 16gb SSD windows xp

Just a heads up , I work at a well known uk electrical retail chain,
and to date nearly all of these sold to customers have been returned.

The reason being that they are shockingly slow.

I am tempted to think that acer has put a compact flash or internal SD card
or something similar into the machine rather than a ssd hard drive.

Hard disk performance is dire and takes minutes to boot and seconds to bring
up the start menu after clicking on the start button.

Also installing and uninstalling software can take a good few minutes.

I’d hazard a guess that the flash drive is MLC and not SLC. I know things are tight but if you go around cutting back on the quality of parts your only making more trouble for the future.

From what i’ve read these slower internal flash drives are ok in Linux but dire in XP.
