May 16, 2010 at 2:22 am #165823Castle MemberBought an N150 today and everything works fine except the wireless. I’ve tried changing the encryption, disabling it, reinstalling drivers, etc. The wireless works fine on my other laptop and my PS3. The wireless card is an Atheros AR9285. Router is a Netgear WGT624v3. Any help is appreciated 🙁 May 16, 2010 at 8:50 am #213511jeetmistry MemberCan your n150 see the wifi router? May 16, 2010 at 9:02 am #213514Castle MemberYes. It just doesn’t want to connect 🙁 May 16, 2010 at 3:57 pm #213507jeepers01 ParticipantCastle – Welcome to the forum Assuming you have re-booted the router, does it connect if the encryption is set to Open or WEP and what messages are you getting? This could be caused by a TKP/AES encryption problem. Are you sure (really sure) you have the correct wireless password? Is the router assigning a unique IP address for the connection? You could try disabling temporarily the wireless on your other devices and re-booting the router.
Then try removing the wireless connection and then re-establishing it.Also check that the firewall is not blocking the IP address and that your router is not set to mac filter. Hope this helps May 16, 2010 at 7:09 pm #213512jeetmistry Member[quote1274036745=Castle]
Yes. It just doesn’t want to connect 🙁
[/quote1274036745]I had a similar issue on my N140, I got around it by changing the wifi adaptor setting to only use b&g and NOT g,b &n. this gave me connectivity and allowed me to update the drivers using samsung update plus and once the updated drivers were in place it worked configured as b, g &n. Rebooted, tried WEP and unencrypted. No connection. The wireless password is right because when I’ve mistyped it, Windows told me it was incorrect. I’ve put all my other wireless stuff on wired and still nothing. Disabled the firewall and there was no MAC filter, though I did enable it and added the netbook to the filter. Should I just buy a USB wireless dongle? May 16, 2010 at 10:44 pm #213508jeepers01 ParticipantCastle – You might want to contact the shop where you bought it if it is brand new. Try changing the adapter setting to b&g only as suggested by jeetmistry above as this fix has worked before for others. Another user had a similar issue that was found to be due to the wifi aerial being physically disconnected inside the machine. Hope this helps and let us know how you get on. My router is set to b/g only by default.
[/quote1274134504]You need to try changing it in the wireless properties on the sammy.Hope this helps May 17, 2010 at 11:31 pm #213517Castle MemberI finally got it to work by uninstalling the current drivers and installing older Vista drivers from another site. 🙂 June 1, 2010 at 4:06 am #213518Phil353 MemberI too have a problem with my N150 not being able to connect with my wireless AP with Wep enabled. I’ve updated drivers,uninstalled/re-installed drivers, the wireless adaptor, changed encryption keys…nothing works except disabling Wep on the accesspoint, then everything works well, however I really don’t want to run without encryption. My wireless accesspoint is a Netgear WG602v3 and I’m using a Linksys router BEFSR41, both with up to date firmware. My N150 is running windows 7 starter and my PC’s and one other laptop are running Windows XP. The laptop (lenovo) connects successfully with Wep enabled. I am just one step away from returning the netbook. Any thoughts? Soulution? June 1, 2010 at 11:39 am #213510jeepers01 ParticipantPhil353 – Welcome to the forum It sounds like a software problem as the card will connect with no encryption present.
Try setting to b/g only and disable power saving in the wireless card properties.
Check the router is broadcasting an SSID.
Double check the wireless key is correct.
Try fixing the IP address if the Router DHCP server is not providing addresses quickly enough or there are IP conflicts.
I assume you are not using mac address filtering.Hope this helps June 1, 2010 at 10:31 pm #213519Phil353 MemberHow do I set my n150’s wireless adaptor to b/g only? June 2, 2010 at 1:41 am #213520Phil353 MemberI just purchased a new netgear wireless router WGR614v10, got rid of the separate AP & hardwire router. I’ve followed everyone advice on the no-connect problem…..still no resolution. The N150 still won’t connect with Wep enabled. does see the wireless routers MAC address but not its name or IP address.sometimes it sees it as an unidentified public network. I really don’t want to give up yet…close though. Any other solutions? June 2, 2010 at 1:43 am #213521Phil353 Memberps: even flashed the bios to the most current 08JI
