Just thought I’d share my findings as I just received one of these, its an aftermarket 9 Cell cell battery from the NC-10. It looked like it was going to be compatible with the n510 so I ordered one from dealextreme
It took a while to arrive, almost a month from when I ordered. But free shipping from Hong Kong to Australia, I cant complain at all!! I wasnt going to pay extra for faster shipping in case it didnt work.
The good news is, it works great! I’m still charging it up so I cant really comment on how long its going to last, but I’m anticipating a good 7-8hrs compared to the 5 i get with the stock 6 cell, that’s with my normal kinda useage patterns.
It is bulkier than the standard battery. It kinda makes for a bit of a laptop stand and puts it at a slightly steeper angle. I imagine this will help keep things a little cooler as there is more air underneath to circulate.
Here’s some pictures to compare the two batteries, I’ll post back after some time with some anecdotal opinions on how long it lasts.
I just noticed, that black oval shaped part on the 9 cell (where the horizontal plastic strip part is), is actually one of the little sticky pad feet things that had come off from where it was supposed to be on the bottom of the battery. Might need a bit of superglue to make sure it stays on there.
In its first charge, at about 90% and its reporting 7hrs 40mins, which is about what I’d expect. Its looking good so far.
