MemberIf you are looking to buy an NC10, please check carefully the battery that is supplied. The NC10 is well known for having a long lasting battery, however in recent months a cheaper version with a smaller capacity battery has become available.
What to look out for?
The original 6-cell version has a battery life of say around 5-6 hours with realistic use, however the cheaper version comes with a 3-cell battery that might only last around 3hrs. Note that battery life can vary depending on how you use your device.Which should I buy?
If you are looking for the lowest price then perhaps the 3-cell version is an option for you. Personally the longer battery life was a critical point in my own buying decision and would not settle for less. The choice, of course, is yours!
I’ve already got the 3-cell version, can I get another battery?
You might want to consider a 3rd party 9-cell NC10 battery or otherwise replacement official 6-cell batteries are around. If the product description was not clear when you purchased you might also want to consider an exchange.Where can I buy a 6-cell NC10?
We have a list of stores that sell NC10s. I cannot guarantee which model is supplied at which store so you will need to check with your supplier first. However at the time of writing both Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com indicate a 6-cell battery.Where can I buy a 3-cell NC10?
Forum users have reported buying 3-cell models both from Argos and Asda here in the UK. It is the suppliers responsability to give an accurate description of the goods being sold (and your responsability to read it!). As said before, if you find you have purchased the wrong model you will need to take this up with your supplier.Any Other Options?
You could look at buying the N110, which is supplied with a high capacity battery which will out last both of the above!September 2, 2009 at 2:34 pm #199680Zaitsev
MemberIf I suspect that I’ve bought a Samsung NC10 with 3-cell battery, is there a way to check on the battery’s serial?
