2GB NC10 @www.powerc.com for £350

Hey guys. I can’t wait any longer for the NC20 so I’ve gone & ordered a Black NC10 from PowerC who are based in the UK. It’s a bit of a risk, I’ve never heard of them before, but their name came up when I googled an NC10 with 2GB of ram. Will let you know of my experience with them in a few days time.

I hope you paid with a Credit Card and not a Debit Card, as you will have protection in case the worst happens. Had a look at the site http://www.powerc.com, it turns out I used to buy Amiga stuff from them back in the ’80’s.

dixons sell the nc10 for £295, play sell ram for £15…. =£310.

or does the 2gb come with vista or something?

Nope I’ve just taken a look at the PowerC site, it comes with XP Home.

Looks like they just open up a standard NC10 and stick in a 2GB module. I wonder if they switch it on to check whether it’s working, and if so whether they go through the setup (name, partitions etc…), which can’t be redone.

I don’t think I can put this in a nice way, it seems like a rip off to me.

@Trune. Dixons price £309+ Plays £15 =£324. I wasn’t really happy about opening up the NC10, I’ve seen the You Tubes and read about the soft crews so I paid someone £25 to do that for me, it’s no big deal. Add the fact that most companies have marked up the original price to £320-330 (Staples,Amazon,Argos) and they don’t seem to be any different in that respect.

@Billy. I did pay by credit card incase something goes wrong. Nice to know the company have been around a while then (Amiga stuff – speaking of which, I’ll be putting plenty of old games on my NC10.) 🙂

google tells u how to get it for £292.

I got it from them for £280 but i believe that deals over now.

The screws arent soft mate, its nice and easy… 🙂 but fair enough.

Personally i think you’d get the ram from a local pc shop for £20 and they’d put it in for u for free.
