No ideas? Problem still persists, although I was wrong about one thing – the computer does recognize an external display, but the display just doesn’t get an image signal and thus just sits in sleep mode.

Jeepers:looking forward to hear from you when you get your V470 as I’m wondering why my mouse/courser freezes for several seconds every 10-20 minutes or so.
[/quote1245178479]Interesting, I’ve actually noticed something similar happening with the V450 occasionally as well. Although it can be fine for a whole day, then happen ten times in one hour, or whatever. And it freezes for around 1-2 seconds. It’s not a whole system “freeze” due to load either, since keyboard works during that time, and it doesn’t occur with the touchpad.
tvihMemberI also had a crash like this two days ago. First time that it happened. I’ve had the computer for around a month now, and about two weeks ago installed a 2GB Kingston RAM module. I was quite taken aback by the crash, fearing something had actually broken, but it hasn’t repeated itself yet. I guess I’ll keep on monitoring the situation.
Oh, and I got the error in Win 7 RC.
tvihMemberI’m using a V450 Nano, it’s quite nice. I probably would’ve gotten Logitech’s bluetooth mouse if I had realized they were so cheap these days before I bought the Nano, but well, at least I can plug the Nano into any other computer too if need be, without needing a BT dongle.
The main downside of the Nano vs a BT model is of course that it takes up a USB port. I think I need to get myself a USB hub for when I use the NC10 with peripherals (mouse, keyboard, external display, external HD etc).
tvihMemberI’ve noticed that Flash video players in general are quite choppy indeed (no matter on what display), and I’m not sure why. Having two tabs of Youtube or a similar service open at once also renders one of the two tabs (usually the one opened later) unwatchable due to extreme jerkiness, even if CPU/RAM aren’t taxed much at all at the time, and even if the non-jerky one is paused.
Good thing I’m not a frequent user of such sites, because it’s probably the biggest annoyance I’ve encountered in the NC10’s performance so far.

and where did you turned this off ?
[/quote1243852503]Go to Device Manager, then in the device list go to Network Adapters. Choose the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter (or whatever you have, I guess by default everyone should have this same one), click Properties. Then in the Advanced tab, select Power Save mode, there are the options to turn it to Maximum (meaning maximum power savings I guess), Normal (default), and Off.
I haven’t really kept track of my transfer speeds nor how much turning this off would help with that, but that’s how you turn the power saving off as far as I can tell. Something to keep in mind for when I have lots of stuff to transfer via WLAN, if nothing else.
tvihMemberThere was a piece of software for XP at least back in the day with which you could remove any XP component, and I mean really remove it, not just hide it – even Internet Explorer. Sadly I can’t remember the name properly. It might have been Tweak-XP, but at least if it is that one, it has changed drastically since and dont know if it can still do what I described.
At any rate you should still be able to find it with a bit of googling.
