Ok, well fixed that, however now I have noticed I have the, what appears to be common “LAN not working in dock” issue.
Apparently one of the fixes for this is BIOS 07FW, I’m on 13FW so you would of thought they would of fixed this by now but maybe not, knew there was a reason I went off Samsung kit..
Anyone got the old 07FW bios hanging about anywhere?
TrigMemberx32?
Mine installed fine with the drivers supplied on the Samsung site..TrigMemberIndeed, nobody else seemed to want to take the leap and try it so I figured why not, plenty of other machines laying about that can stick the RAM in so its not like it was a waste…

TrigMemberUSB Bootable
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspxMight be worth getting MemTest and running that on the netbook, that’ll tell you if the RAM is playing up.
External DVD drive an option?
TrigMemberJust ordered a 4gb stick, should arrive tomorrow.
I’m only running 32bit Win7 so if the machine does see all of it the OS wont use it all so I might boot some sort of 64bit Ubuntu or similar off of a thumb drive to test.TrigMemberJust pointing out the fact they say it supports 4gb but has 2 slots, so them saying 4Gb could be halved if they seem to have doubled the number of slots it has…
TrigMemberYeah, that site also says it has 2 RAM slots sooo….
TrigMemberClean install to Win7 from a USB stick is the bext way, download all the drivers for your model from the Samsung website as well and put them on the USB stick.
You’ll need to prep the USB stick to be bootable first, guide for that is here…http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx
Also when you have installed make sure you dont install the updated driver for the Intel onboard graphics, otherwise you’ll find your brightness keys dont work.
TrigMemberBe interested in this, the main think I dont like about my N220 is the naff resolution.
TrigMemberYour cursor will flash a touch faster in word 😉
TrigMemberDaevo, have you tried taking it abck to where you bought it from?
Not heard anyone else having the same sorts of issues you have..TrigMemberYeah mines 32 bit Win7 Pro, I dont see the point in going 64bit unless you have a specific peice of software that needs it.
TrigMemberAs soon as I got mine I stuck Win7 32 bit on it.
Download the drivers from the Samsung website and you’ll be fine, be careful with Windows Update though as the updated graphics driver it wants to put on will stop the brightness buttons working, as far as I have found that is the only problem with Windows Update, other than that everything else is fine.
TrigMemberTypical Samsung yet again…
Can we not get a page on the main site that covers what upgrades/accesories etc work with which ever models?
Perhaps in the form of a pull down selection, pick your netbook, pick what you want, gives you options…
From the options could then link to reviews and sellers? -
