Having owned both machines its really down to personal prefrence. I loved the nc10 but using mainly for internet the nc20 extra two inches and resolution make it a lot more pleasurable and a lot less scrolling.so overall a nicer experience for me. But is it worth the extra 60-70 pounds depends on your point of view.
Personally i prefer glossy screens some dont. As for Nano Vs Atom, in my view it doesent matter, if i want to game or use photoshop ill use my quad core not my netbook. so processor speed to me is irrelevant, both have there pros and cons and ultimately its your needs that matter more than anything

Memberrunning avast also as nav 2009 fails and is now not compatible (was in beta build)
TheRing
Memberjust installed the latest rc1 build and its installed a ok as mentioned before only need the drivers for the memory card reader, all the rest a ok.
those with norton (no need to scream at me lol) certain packages wont work i.e nis 2009 or av 2009. otherwise its pretty god damn stable although disabled a few of the visual tweaks to speed it up. still running aero and it copes fine

Memberatheros cards are known to be fussy with certain router chipsets.
regards to the acquiring network address problem are you running a bt homehub 2 by any chance. this router has i believe the broadcom chipset, i get the same with my hp lappy and you have to change the channel on the router from automatic to a dedicated channel.TheRing
Memberthis was the same as the nc10 when i did the upgrade to 5300 on that it was ok ( sticky on nc10 forum)
i will be opening the nc20 soon as i get the card and aerial so if no one does beofre ill make sure i take some piccies like before.
thanks for confiming the card works.

Memberhave to say i really like windows 7. i was an early adopter (day 1) of vista and actually thought it was a good os. but after time the little niggles like poor copying, file managment and memory managment ruined the “wow£ factor.
this may happen with windows 7 to but at the moment it seems like a streamlined code with better resource managment. The fact i have a spare pc running it with only 1gb ram yet it feels as fast as my quadcore running vista is a testament.
i prefer the more subtle visual effects of 7 as opposed to vista and the taskbar is a great addition although not the mac killer visual they make it out to be.

MemberThats the one pain with wifi combinations if a card does not get on with a router all hell breaks loose, gotta say the belkin n/5300 worked a dream but i know from past experiences that certain combos result in poor throughput and or crashes.
TheRing
MemberI cant speak for any other card bar the 5300 but battery life should increase a little as the card is one part of the centrino 2 brand as such has a very low power consumption lower than the atheros but the gain would probably only be a few minutes or so.

MemberYep F9 still works,
Also on some router/card combos you must ensure wpa2 and aes are selected in the wisfi setup otherwise card will stick at 54mbps
