OK. I’ll give it a try.

Never regretted getting one.As long as you do your homework and you know what you’re buying and it meets your requirements, you’ll never go wrong with a purchase.
The problem comes when people misunderstand what the purpose of a netbook really is. The clue is in the name really.
Mine is used every single day. I never now boot my PC up just to surf the net or check e-mails. Instead I use my NC10 from the comfort of my sofa.
If I want to play WoW or do something a bit more intensive, then I accept my netbook is not fit for that task and boot up the PC.
The main reason I bought one though, was to travel with. Its proved invaluable on train journeys and in hotels. I watch a lot of downloaded TV episodes and some movies on it.
For all those things, its perfect. Sooo many friends and family who own full size laptops but do nothing more with them really, then surf and office who have seen my NC10 are now asking themselves why they bought a fullsize.

Ditto. If mine were lost/stolen/broken I would order another one that day with expedited (although not overnight) delivery.ragmanMember[quote1237931835=jez]
Agreed. Sometimes it’s hard to know what you need to know until you know it!

Didn’t Donald Rumsfeld say something like that?ragmanMemberJust got the Motorola S9 Bluetooth headset from an ebay seller for $29. No problem connecting. Work great. Who said you have to have a MAC for accessories to work without any hastles.
ragmanMemberI was also somewhat uncomfortable spending $450 without ever seeing one in person, but you won’t be disappointed if you get one. It is sturdy, looks good, and doesn’t feel or look cheap. There is a place in New York City that has the NC10 plus most of the others on display if you live anywhere near there.

Hi Chris – since I mentioned the sound problems I’ve been having I’ve discovered that my Registry Cleaner has removed something from the registry that it shouldn’t have – I have no sound at all now. Luckily my 18 year old son is very good with fixing such things and is gonna sort it for me later. Do you have a registry cleaner that may have removed something?

I removed the sound icon in the bottom right tray and couldn’t figure out a way to get it back. I used the restore point function of XP to restore my machine to a previous date when the icon was still there. This might work for you. Should be found at Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore. Unless you turned off the System Restore feature this might work for you.ragmanMember[quote1236185874=jeffreylu]
Any websites or shops for Bluetooth headsets?
[/quote1236185874]This is an old post, but I wonder the same. Am looking use bluetooth listening to movie/music on a long plane flight. Any recent recs on a set?
ragmanMemberThis link has some discussion, but more links to comparisons. The latest Computer Shopper rated 10 netbooks. I couldn’t find article online but did read the hand-held version of the magazine last week. Pretty thorough writeups on all the specs, although I didn’t agree with the conclusion (I believe they picked the EEE and Wind as Editor’s Choices).

Looks like the correct speakers, good price – I would buy them without further ado 🙂[quote1235593860=ragman]
These seem like the same speakers which I suppose could be removed from their housings (meant for the Lenovo). Also appears to be only about $18 for a “set” which I take to mean two.http://usedpchub.com/uph/laptop/77-36387-9580/Lenovo-Sunrise-150-Speaker-Set.html

Got to the final price and it was ok at $18 per set. Shipping was also $18. Still seems like a decent price. When I get them I will post how easy/hard it was to separate them from their housing and if they work.

In the beginning they sound helpful but after that they do not reply on e-mails and nothing happens. That’s why I had to get my speakers elsewhere.Where did you get your speakers? The only place I could find that would sell them is ELFA Electronics. Have you/has anyone done business with them and are they reputable?

i’ve been having problems with the wifi at a range, so i’ve decided to upgrade to the intel 5300. could anyone please provide a guide on how to install this? i’ve also purchased the antenna. thank you.
[/quote1235575428]What kinds of problems? Are you trying to connect to a wifi N network, or just a G?

Before ‘totally’ agreeing, I’d suggest some more research on the web, indicating that the test Tommy boy has run, did not resemble a real life scenario. The only question remaining is if SSDs are saving energy, but even Tommy boy is confirming their error in testing, indicating it should not be worse!
Mine is 30-50% worse, so something may not be kosher…that’s what I totally agree with… 😉http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/07/16/ssds-do-increase-battery-life/1
[/quote1235523074]Great point. Here is the key statement of that counter-point article…….
Quote:If these latest figures have convinced you to go down the SSD route, Tom’s Hardware’s latest test has highlighted the best of the bunch: the OCZ SATA II 2.5†SSD showed a performance-per-watt (PPW) in the region of five to six times better than the traditional spinning-platter drives it was compared to, making it a clear winner if you want the best possible runtime from your notebook.

Interesting mod! But is there a diff btwn the 25KC08 and the 25KC08-N ? The first is cheaper and has a better sensivity.

here, here. i’d like to know if one sounds better than the other, if anyone has tried both. -
