If you get stuck, post back I’m sure someone will be able to assist.
However, on my N220, if I into BIOS and go to the [Boot] tab, then (without the DVD attached) highlight ‘Boot Device Priority’ and press the [Enter] key, I have options for things like USB CD, USB HDD as well as the internal hard drive etc.
When I connect my external DVD and then turn the PC on, in that section the device is then shown as USB CD ‘TSSTcorp CDDVDW SE-S084F’ All I have to do is use the and keys to make this device the first boot device, make sure its enabled (Shift + 1) then save the BIOS and reboot. If a bootable CD or DVD is in the drive , it then boots from it.
Hi again thank you but I am getting nowhere fast…………I have managed to get into the Boot Device Priority and moved the option USB CD up to No.1 however when I press Shift + 1 is does not do anything, the only one that it will let me select is IDE HDD Am I still doing somthing wrong, everyone says it is easy to remove linux and install windows but I am now loosing the will with this.

MemberHi Fred,
Thank you for taking the time to help. I can connect my DVD and can confirm that it is working, however I am unable to boot from the DVD…. after many hours I went into set up but I do not have an option to boot from CD ??? As I bought this second hand, I have been informed that it was installed on a new hard drive? so from that I can only assum that no windows exist.
I will have a look at the link you kindly supplied. Thanks againpmurray
MemberHi again, I have had no replies so assume that I am not asking the right questions. (not that good, thus the reason I can not use Linux) so.
1. Is it possible to remove this operating system
2. I have a external DVD and a Windows Vista Disc – I cannot even get the N110 to play the DVD as I do not know how to. I know that it works as the disc is loading and I can see the files but it looks like it is not reading the disc……..In windows I would ‘RUN’ but this does not work.
3. I have gone into BIOS settings to try and get it to boot from the DVD but that was a bit scary as I could not easily recognise what to do?Am I trying to do somthing that is impossible or beyond my capabilities? Help Help Help
