My fiancée’s catering website doesn’t look right on my NC10, compared to my calibrated Eizo LCD. I’d intended for it to be in subtle shades of olive green, but on my NC10 it came out much more of a neutral grey. So I’ve calibrated my NC10 screen and it gives a much better result, to my mind.So I measured from my NC10 with the screen set to three bars brightness, using a gretagmacbeth eye-one display 2. Set for a white point of 6500K with a gamma of 2.2
I’ve put the calibrated icc profile and some basic instructions on my webspace http://www.taphouse.eu/nc10/

January 27, 2009 at 2:14 pm in reply to: [poll] 3G / HSDPA Speed test. Phone v Dongle ( or mod ) #181511Jonny BlondMemberyer there are loads of variables. just trying to gather the average speeds over the uk. to get an idea where my connection lies. i will report back when i try different locations.
January 27, 2009 at 2:09 pm in reply to: Bluethooth modem ( phone ) constantly disconecting with windows 7 #181515Jonny BlondMemberok just tryed again and its working now. i changed the nokia connection to include using the “standard modem over bluetooth” ie ku990 and it worked and stayed connected.
Jonny BlondMemberMy Speakers are great for the size. plenty loud, reasonably clear. tinny yes but for general use there perfectly good. with headphones or outputting to surround sound its incredibly good sound, and very loud.
January 25, 2009 at 5:32 pm in reply to: [NC10]intigrated G3 HSPDA mod, is there another way? #181265Jonny BlondMemberI have a new solution to Dongle free 3G / HSDPA. and i am using it now! Im with T-Mobile and i scoured there pages and found if you are an existing customer with web & walk on your phone you can use your phone as a modem. you have to upgrade to “web & walk Plus” for £6 per month (3gig p/m) or max for £14 (10gig p/m ) as i have half price friends and family also i get these for half price. so im paying £7 per month for 3.5mb ( actualy around 1-2mbps ) with a 10GB limet per month.
Im a happy bunny. i always have my phone with me and can connect via Blue Tooth or usb ( which charges my phone ) No modding requiredJonny BlondMemberOk people lesson 101 in domestic uk video signals. the scart connector was designed so that tv’s didn’t need different plugs on the back for all the different video & audio signals with different connections. ( that is now obsolete due to dvi, vga etc ) its just a connector it dosn’t make different signals compatible. ie my car has a connector for fuel but it runs on petrol = putting diesel into it won’t work just cause i can physically put the connector in! so with that in mind: signal types
Composite: all picture information in one signal. ( standard video use, usually a yellow phono connector )
Component: Separate red, green and blue (RGB), and separate sync ( -H-V ) signal. ( usually scart – scart, and scart to phono tails ie 4 phono conectors r,g,b & HV
VGA: separate R G B as above BUT Separate H & V Sync so 5 signals not 4. there for not directly compatible with scart. also the H & V sync settings have to be compatible with the display.
So the upshot is you cant just use a cable to connect a VGA signal to a TV ( Component or not ) But there are signal converters out there. such as the one posted above. there are also cables with built in converters. But be aware that the tv will have to support component RGB H-V- signal and you will have to play around with the graphic settings to get a working signal, which may not be possible with hardware limitations.

Well, as the OP asked there is a problem – you can’t play full 1080p videos on the NC10 without compressing or re-encoding them to 720p. So, I think the answer to the OP’s question is: no.
[/quote1232707829]It will play them on the external output ( vga port ) on extended desktop
Jonny BlondMemberJust use win xp to delete to d: partition and create a 25g d: and 87g E: then duel boot to d:
Jonny BlondMemberit will probably come in the form of a update for win 7. and it will probably still work but we will be bombarded with ” special deal upgrade for beta testers £5 off retail win 7″ type mesages.
January 19, 2009 at 8:58 pm in reply to: how to share my desktops external hardrive with my sammy? #180345Jonny BlondMembergo to, settings network connections then set up a home or small office network. in the tasks section. follow instructions. then do some on other pc. then when both restarted goto the folders you want to share right click share folder. then go to my network places on the other pc and you will see the shared folders. as long as you have no 3rd party firewalls running it will work.

Jonny BlondMemberHum every one seems to be going a bit conservative for my liking, I would be looking to put at least 500g into my sammy to make an upgrade worth while. trying to find a 1t at the moment!
