Aye, but have you seen the wimmin in Cardiff?! 😉

Harsh
[/quote1250244887]Couldn’t resist, sorry – red rag to a bull and all that 😉
71notoutMemberI think this would be ideal for office personnel who only ever do mainly admin stuff like word/excel and web/email – as i said, absolutely no noise whatsoever from it, low power consumption and takes up practically no desk space.
Comes with a nice Acer infrared mouse and decent keyboard.
So far, 10/10 for what we want it for!
71notoutMemberJust set everything up tonight – it is really tiny and is safely attached to the rear of my 19″ Sammy monitor 😀
Absolutely silent in operation, installed AVG, OpenOffice, VLC, etc.
It runs buildabearville and clubpenguin fine so that’s my daughter happy – it will be predominantly a web machine, with possibly some office stuff as my wife doesn’t like typing on her Aspire One – too small keyboard!
I have used my Sammy for video editing, torrents, watching films, all manner of stuff and haven’t found it struggles for anything yet so I don’t suppose this new Acer nettop will either.##If we want games, we have an XBox 360, Wii and DSi so no need to use the PC!

But the good news is that people in Cardiff are nearly twice as likely as folk in Glasgow to take enough exercise – of one sort or another

71notoutMemberTo be honest, I think my sister in law is going to lend us a Satnav to use but I wanted this as an excuse to play around with my gadgets 😀

Wow, the firs thing I ever made with StickleBricks was a model of the Falcon – the spaceship in the cartoon Battle of the Planets. Anyone remember that?
[/quote1240316042]Transmute! 😉
71notoutMemberJust bought my daughter one of these to replace her DS…so the Mrs can take the DS as she has started playing brain training and wants to get MillionHeir – she has never been into games at all before now!
71notoutMemberBeing a young geek, I obviously used a propelling pencil 🙂
71notoutMemberI use VLC Media Player with no problems at all. It is free, and tends to perform better than Windows Media Player – some avis that are jerky/glitchy in WMP are fine in VLC.
71notoutMemberAnd on a similar theme to one of TCMuffin’s earlier jokes…
I went to a zoo the other day.
When I got there, I found they only had one animal in the whole zoo…a dog.
It was a Schi-tzu!
71notoutMemberOn a similar theme to the last one….
Tiger Woods goes into his local garage for some petrol in his sponsored Mercedes.
When paying for the petrol, he rummages in his pocket and finds 2 golf tees which he places on the counter.
The assistant has never seen these things before, so asks Mr Woods what they are for.
“You put your balls on them when you are driving” he replies.
To which the assistant exclaims “Gee, those guys at Mercedes think of everything, don’t they!” ;o)
71notoutMemberSony NWZ-A828 here – wouldn’t subscribe to the Apple hype…and the Sony beats it for sound quality (even if trying to find a dock for it is nigh on impossible!)
71notoutMember37 here
71notoutMemberStaple an earthing strap onto your wife 🙂
February 17, 2009 at 10:47 am in reply to: How to make some changes to the boot loader (GRUB) #18241471notoutMemberPhew! Fixed it by recreating my Unetbootin USB stick with live iso – booted from that, mounted the HDD space with Ubuntu installation and edited the GRUB back to original settings 🙂
Cheers,
