Member….albeit resident in England (for now).
After nearly a year with an eee 701 I’m in love with the netbook concept and it’s time to move on. I originally got my eee to take to our holiday flat, which has no phone/internet connection, so I could surf at nearby pubs which provide wifi. Since then I’ve found miriad other uses for it and frequently use it at home just for the convenience of having a piece of kit I can carry from froom to room.
But I can see how I’d benefit from a bigger screen, better keyboard and a bit more storage. So began the search for the perfect netbook. It’ll probably never arrive of course, but the NC10 is the nearest I’ve seen. Tried a couple out in Currys last weekend and the keyboard and screen are huge improvements over what I’ve been used to. Then it was a matter of sourcing a blue one (I blame Becky!) at a decent price.
Delivery, from Dixons, due next Saturday (13th) so I’m now building a sense of anticipation.
Not that I’ll be using my new toy until Sunday though – once it’s here we’ll be off Xmas shopping in the Lowry Centre (for those who may know it) followed by the Pogues concert. A December ritual now.
Jez – you’ve got yourself a great site and community here. My cautious nature is such that I tend to spend a lot of time on forums looking at pros and cons before committing to buying any tech purchase. Having ‘lurked’ here for several weeks, I can honestly say this is the best and friendliest I’ve encountered in several years of poking my nose in. Well done. I look forward to posting from my NC10 a week from now.

I hope it continues in that way! I’m doing my best to steer the forum in the direction I hope for and thanks to my moderators too for helping out of course ๐
Had one or two bumps along the way but so far so good lol!
I hope it turns up soon ๐
