you can’t turn on the NC10 when it’s closed! The Power Button is deactivated.
Clever design Samsung!
(Yeah, yeah…. i should have noticed this earlier)
i did notice that, in error i pressed the on button when it was closed. i thought ohoh, but then i realized it didn’t turn on.
Sometimes it could be usefull to turn on the laptop when it’s closed.
To my mind.
But maybe it’s better like this 🙂
Because if the laptop turn on when it’s in a case/bag it would warm up.
and crash.
20Syl: If you want your NC10 on with the lid closed, just turn it on, and then close the lid (you can program the netbook to do nothin when you close the lid). If you do it, it will keep working…
it’s better that way because it will inconvenience you more if the power button works when closed. But sometimes, I feel like turning it on without opening the lid, but it’s not very often.
I close it if I’m using an external monitor but that feature is very useful. Kinda like “hold” on your MP3 player.
Of course its better! I was always worried about turning the system on by accident when its in a case.
Its just weird that it took me 2 month of ownership to actually find out that Samsung was clever enough to disable the button.
lol
It is a good feature, it almost makes up for the rubber feet being placed on the battery (I believe this has been changed now)
