I’ve had my NC10 for about a month now and it’s been great. During that time I’ve used only a wireless connection when browsing, and yesterday via a wired connection plugged in my NC10 to a port on my wireless router. It didn’t work, as the port number on the router front was not lighting up and thus I believe not recognizing that the NC10 was connected.
I have a notebook that I then plugged into the router port, the port number on the router lit up and I was surfing. I checked that I was surfing via the wired connection and I was.
Not sure what it could be or what to check. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Hi, first port of call could be to try Samsung’s Easy Network Manager (installed on you NC10 – or downloadable from their support pages if not). This should diagnose main issues I think. Have you got LAN enabled in the bios? (is by default but may have switched it off?)
I hate these threads. I havent used LAN yet either…
Few things to check:
– in the BIOS under advanced is “Internal LAN” enabled?
– can you see the LAN adaptor in Device Manager?
– Is it enabled?
Thanks guys, I’m going to give these suggestions a try when I get home later.
I had looked in the device manager and the LAN is showing up and is enabled, it’s also showing a message that says ‘This device is working properly.’
I have issues with my lan sometimes. First plug in and it doesn’t work. Try another and it works. Strange. Tried different cables and the same thing. Works most of the time.
I think it works the first time i plugged it in. If I pull it out and plug it back in, the light wont turn on. I have to pull out and plug in again. But at least it works, sometimes. =/
Well, I got my LAN to work.
I didn’t try plugged in, but on battery I’m able to connect if I startup the NC10 with the LAN cable connected, if I then disconnect and reconnect the cable LAN stil works fine.
If I startup the NC10 with no LAN cable connected, at that point the LAN will not be recognized.
Kind of a duh moment, but anyway I did learn something. And thanks for the helpful suggestions received.
