Hello,
For anyone who uses a hacked uxtheme.dll file to install custom themes through Windows. I am looking for a suggestion for a nice clean theme to use on my netbook. I would like a thin taskbar and windows if possible and I tend to prefer elegant dark themes as opposed to flashy colorful ones.
If anyone has any suggestions or, even better, can post a picture of their desktop along with the name of the theme they are using then I would be very grateful!
Regards,
ashesfall

something of useNovember 19, 2008 at 1:16 pm #169625ramdianeMemberHow about this one??

It’s gorgeous! I have installed it on my work pc already!

The classic look makes it look a bit old fashioned – like im running Windows 98 – eek!

Orange & Black 🙂November 22, 2008 at 10:46 am #169622jonbadMemberThanks for the Zune & Royale Noir themes – they’re really nice and I’d not found them before.
The Royale Noir theme is actually a development of the Royale theme which is basically the Windows Media Centre 2005 default theme. You can also install that, it’s just a nicer version of the standard XP home and Pro themes – a lot nicer version!
There’s also a really nice dark blue alternative to it which is available near the bottom of Jez’s link at lifehacker.

(click on Brico Packs). When installed, change properties and use Crystal Clear (Thin Win Flag) and there you go!November 25, 2008 at 2:27 pm #169627NcssryEvlMemberReally wish I could tell you guys where to get it, but if you’re looking for a plain black theme, “allblack” is what I use on my XP boxes. It’s just a dark Luna, no special styles needed (other than the hacked UXTHEME.DLL)
