Home › Forums › Operating Systems › Windows XP › Windows date changes itself – any ideas what could be wrong?
Hi guys
I’ve got something dodgy going on on my NC10 for the past week or so. Every time after booting the system year is set to 2089 which buggers up all sorts of things like website security certificates but obviously also my outlook. If I change the date manually everything is fine but I have to it every time I boot the machine….
Any ideas what the problem is and how it could be solved?
Cheers
Lars
Call Samsung, something is really wrong with your NC10… O_O’
It could be a virus. I would reformat and reinstall Windows and see if that solves the problem, if it’s still there then it’s a hardware fault and a job for Samsung.
Thanks guys…I was hoping I could sort this out without re-installing the entire system…I’ll keep at it and let you know if and how I could resolve it…
Just to let you know this was a virus. When it first happened I googled I ran AVG which did not find anything. When I googled the error message I did not find any useful advice. Last week I ran AVG again and it did find a virus. So it appears it was a brand new virus which wasn’t detected by AntiVirus at the time. Everything running smoothly now…
