“Today, I wanted to take a closer look at the Windows 7 SKUs since there has been some discussion about them for the last couple of days. By the end of this post, I want you to know exactly which edition of Windows 7 is right for you and help you understand how we approached addressing the large amount of feedback we received.”
I like the Windows 7 Starter version, aimed at low powered computers (netbooks) and limited to running only 3 applications at a time… I wonder if any companies will sell computers using that version.
I saw the list of Windows 7 versions recently and just shook my head. Is there really any need for Microsoft to differentiate between their product line so much? The only saving grace I’ve read is that general consumers will be aware of only two versions of Windows 7, just like XP, so it shouldn’t be too confusing regarding which version to choose from. I sincerely hope this is true, as I feel for any consumer looking to choose between the current Vista versions and not end up having to just choose at random to save the hassle.
Is there going to be different boxes/versions for 32bit/64bit as well?
It reminds me of this all over again…
