MemberNC10 prices have gone up about £30 then. I was going to buy one next week but I think I’ll hold off for a while. £300 is a price barrier as far as I’m concerned, you can pick up a decent 12in laptop for £400.
What’s driving it supply/demand or our weak currency?

Memberi noticed that too. i guess they are that much in demand and people are trying to profit. it sucks too. i was planning on ordering it at another site since the place i ordered it at is lagging but the increasing prices have prevented me from doing that. i’m at a locked in price of 269.99 so i will just wait for mine to ship.

MemberThey were at $525 this morning on ebay and now they’re at $550. They were $500 when they first appeared on ebay like two weeks ago. People are obviously still willing to buy at the higher prices so the sellers (there are only a few of them) keep raising their prices. Buy.com seems to sell small batches of ~10 at a time at $500 each on ebay so you should wait until they get more stock.

MemberI would say that it is down to demand. But what do I know lol!

MemberEbay sellers are raising their prices because they know that people are using the live.com Cash Back rebates to buy from them. And when the rebates get higher (they just went from 25% to 30%), then the Ebay sellers will raise their prices too, to get a piece of that action.

MemberIt looks like it is one of the “must have” items for this christmas, I would expect the prices will drop below the 299 opening price soon after christmas.

Memberhow many of these have stock? You can still get it at Dixons for £300.70 with the vAT3 code.
My problem is now that you can get the EEE 1000h with 160gb HDD for £260. £20 difference I could handle but not £40.

[/quote1228079959]Ahh, I’ve looked at that marketplace seller before, they’re very cheeky. I had bookmarked the blue model on their website about a week ago when it was selling for £315. The “previous price” was apparently £362.50 I looked at it again a few days again and the price had risen to £359.99 – the “previous price” had also gone up to over £400!
Very naughty of companies to pretend something has been available for sale at a higher price to make it look like you’re getting a good deal.

Memberanother thing working in price hike favour is the excellent reviews the nc10 is getting, with all the recommendations and best netbook. People not in the know will think £330 is the normal price.

Memberiv’e just been thinking, it’s more than likely that the prices are going up so that they can drop it back to 280 -90 for the january sales and have everyone be all excited again.
cunning, as they will sell a lot of units at the higher price.

MemberWhoa, I just noticed that Newegg just bumped their price up 30 USD (at current rates a little over 19 quid) to $499. Hot damn, I’m glad I bought it earlier.
