MemberSo from what I read here, Newegg’s sucks. Instead of just worrying about blotches on the screen, now someone got one from Amazon with either a bad HDD or it was a returned unit. I was going to buy from Amazon, but either way are there any other stores with a better return policy or are they pretty good?

MemberGoing by the links posted, I presume you are in the US?
Though I’m in the UK, I can heartily recommend Amazon (UK at least). In 2007, my hubby bought me an iPod Nano for Xmas from them. When it arrived, he was horrified to find the package was empty. With no way to prove that he wasn’t trying to pull a fast one and get a free iPod, he assumed Amazon wouldn’t want to know. However, they didn’t bat an eyelid and instantly sent out a replacement with free overnight shipping.
Conversely, I’ve found Pixmania to have an awful returns process, not that you are likely to shop from them either. They dispatched an item even though it had been cancelled immediately after ordering and then kindly informed us that it would take 28 days to refund after they had verified there was no fault with it – we hadn’t even opened the package, it had been refused on delivery per their instructions! This was also an Xmas gift, so you can imagine how that messed things up. We eventually got a prompt refund after writing directly to a senior manager.

MemberI also vote for Amazon! Dabs are also good on returns. I’ve had trouble with Currys and returns though.

MemberDespite having been an online buyer for over 10 years I don’t think I’ve ever returned anything big!
Some CDs from play.com didn’t show up once. They just sent them out again. Which was nice.

MemberIf you are in the US and want a blue Sammy I would recommend Costco. They have an extended return period when you can return it to the store (rather than shipping it back) and extend the manufacturer warranty for an additional year. If you want to be able to buy online and return to a store you can purchase an NC10 through Radio Shack. They will ship to store for free and you pick up there.
For online stores, Amazon has always worked for me, but I would not recommend Buy.Com.

MemberDon’t want a blue one and I don’t have any Costcos near me :p
I’m still leaning toward Amazon. I’ll be getting a screen protector from PDAir for $15 as well. Probably end up leaving the cover on the top until i figure out what I can use that is more permanent to thwart scratches and finger prints.

MemberRadioShack have nice 30 days return policy but will overcharge you. They put 10% tax even on online purchases.

MemberI just called Amazon because I see they have it in white (which is what I want) for $449 to include free shipping. They have a 30 day return policy if there is any problem with the netbook. There is a 15% restocking fee if you just want to return it. I wish costco had it in white! I like their return policy and warranty better.

[/quote1232566638]Please email Costco and let them know you are interested in a white NC10. I emailed and was told that the buyers do pay attention to email requests. If enough people do they may stock them.

MemberPugrider,
I did! I posted their response on another thread. Hopefully others will contact costco. I’d rather buy through them than anywhere else because of their return policy. The blue NC10 is starting to look pretty to me. I’ll see how long I can hold off for a white one!

Memberhttp://www.jr.com currently has the blue, white, black and pinc nc10 for about $450 with free shipping and 30 days return policy without restocking fee.
That beats the 15% restocking fee of Amazon.
