MemberThe last stumbling block I have to buying an NC10 is the fact that I hate to buy a netbook without laying hands on it first. I was able to try out the HP Mini 1000 at Costco, and was ready to order one through their web site until I saw the reviews for the NC10. Does anyone know of a retailer in the greater DC area that has one on display? Or are they only available on the web through Amazon and Newegg? If not, anyone in the Rockville MD area want to meet at a Starbucks? My treat!

MemberHi Pugrider. I can’t help you out as I’m in the UK! But I tried out an NC10 before buying and helped decide things for me. My local store had a new EEE, an MSI Wind, and an Aspire One all lined up next to each other!
I hope you find somewhere to check them out. It’s worth doing if you get the chance imo.

MemberPugrider,
From what I’ve read, it seems that the only retailers that carry the NC10 are either in NYC or somewhere in California – where all the trendy people are, lol.
As a former Best Buy employee/tech, I know for sure that they won’t have it because Samsung is not one of the laptop brands that they carry, even though they carry their home theater products.

MemberI saw the Samsung NC10 at J and R in NY, but it gold sold out in just a day; it was the only store in NY with the item on display. I called them and they said to wait a week, that’s after Thanksgiving.
I’ve been waiting for more than 3 weeks now to buy it but I am still hoping to get a black one, which may not be possible anytime soon. Anyway, J and R had only the white when I saw it. It looked sturdy. I liked the matte finish, but since it’s in pearl white, it looked like a pearl jewelry to me, and thought of just waiting for the other dark colors before I buy one.

MemberIn NYC, has anyone tried the Samsung “Experience” store? You can’t buy anything on the spot, but you get the “experience”. I don’t know if they have the NC10 though.

MemberI wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions and to let them know that I ordered a blue NC10 from Amazon on Friday (11/28/08). They ran out once, restocked, and then ran out again. Last I checked they are back in stock at Amazon, but I didn’t want to take a chance on a long re-stocking delay. I am still looking forward to laying hands on one – mine!
