Does the battery in the NC10 need to be completely drained before recharging, or can I charge it at any point? Is there a recommendation on how and when to charge the battery?
Thank you in advance 🙂
From what I’ve read you should try to avoid drain the battery completely, it’s better to charge it often and at any point.
I know some batteries get better life out of them if you let them go down completely, whereas others (my Sansa mp3 player) does NOT do good if you let it drain down, but instead gets more life out of it when you charge it at no less than 40% usage. So I expect the Sammy is the same: charge at any point but not drained.
Does the battery automatically get charged when you use computer with the AC power connected?
Thanks again…what a terrific forum this is! 🙂
I don’t know if this is the correct way but I am recharging when Windows (balloon tip) tells me my battery is low and to recharge.

The general consensus is to charge when there is only about 10% left on your battery. A great source of information on this topic can be found on NotebookReview.com.
The days of having to discharge batteries before charging them are thankfully in the past. This only applied to NiCad batteries as they suffered from “memory effect” and doesn’t afect the Lithium Ion battery fitted to the Sammy.
Charge whenever you feel like it!
