MemberRouter: D-Link DIR-635 (working after Firmware upgrade)
NC10 WLAN Driver: ver.7.6.1.160
Now works flawlessly at 54 Mbps using WPA2 after Firmware upgrade of the Router, before I had some problems with loss of connection or no connection at all.December 8, 2008 at 7:31 pm #174262Serendip
MemberHad been using an ancient hand me down LinkSys BEFW11S4, a b router. It worked, though I would lose connectivity in certain areas, and it was sluggish.
Now using a TrendNet TEW-432BRP (g) – it’s great, and for $10, replacing it when I want to upgrade to (n) won’t be an issue. Installation was easy, though “help” could have been more helpful. They do have a CD, but since my main computer is a Mac, I ignored it.

MemberRouter: DIR-615
Drivers: The stock and updated driver worked fine in XP. For ubuntu I used some madwifi atheros driver which I found on a NC10 ubuntu blog.Everything works fine in XP and 99% of the time in linux. My problems in linux arent the routers fault IMO.

rock solid @54mbpsAlso connect frequently to whatever The Cloud use in MaccysDs without any problems.
I did have some issues with my brothers Dlink (sorry don’t know the model) where it would stop passing traffic although the wireless (appeared to) remained connected but switching to short preamble onthe router seemed to clear that.

MemberI’ve got some problems with my wifi connection, it drops constantly or cannot find a valid ip adress. I’m using a SMC2804WBR Barricade G.
Solutions are welcomed 🙂
(thoughts) Maybe time to upgrade to an N router…December 9, 2008 at 2:58 pm #174269Theo
MemberHave a Belkin N1Vision , worked straight out of the box.
Have an excellent connection throughout the house to the NC10, haven’t yet seen how far I can get before I lose the connection.
As I needed a new router thought I’d future proof a bit with N wireless and Gigabyte Ethernet.
Thoroughly recommend it, the only downside is the price

MemberHi,
I’ve a Netopia 3347NWG (supplied as standard by Eircom here in Ireland).
Works fine with XP (WPA PSK) on the NC10 – no problem connecting or holding connection, speed is good etc.
However, when running Ubuntu 8.10 or Fedora 10 I can’t even see it as being available.
I haven’t fully investigated but my assumption at this stage is that the Atheros chipset in the NC10 doesn’t play nice with the Netopia under Linux.

MemberUsing a Netgear DG834N here also. Currently holds a good 54mbps connection but haven’t tried it all around the house as yet. Plan to do the Intel 5300 upgrade sometime in the near future to upgrade the netbook to wireless N. Failing that I do have a wireless N dongle I can use.
Took a little while to set up simply because I use MAC address filtering and totally forgot to add it in one part of the router’s settings. Once that was done it worked a treat straight out of the box.

MemberNo problem with my “Buffalo AirStation 125Mbps Wireless CableDSL Router” (apart from me mislaying the passphrase that is)
Connected with no need to update the driver using the wireless network connection utility provided.

MemberRouter: aged wireless Microsoft MN-500
Connection fine at first, now at every boot Sammy says can’t connect. Can be forced to do so, but won’t do it on its own. The router works fine with other computers in the house.
