My laptop has died and I’m thinking of just getting a netbook as a replacement and think the NC10 looks like the one to get.
My current laptop is an old 1.5ghz celeron m with 512k ram and 80gb hard drive. Will the NC10 run quicker than my dead laptop?
I only use my laptop to stream football using p2p software, stream tv shows through megavideo & i player etc, download torrents, write word documents, play music through itunes and watch avi files. I also play some old football manager 2007 or 08.
Would the NC10 be capable of doing this?
Will it run Itunes, VLC player, Div X player, Open Office and FM07/08?
Sorry for the stupid questions but if it is capable of doing all that then I have no need for a laptop.
No worries, that’s what the beginner’s forum is for!
Check out the apps area and you’ll see some detailed discussion on some of the apps.
Itunes – music will be fine. iirc most people have watched itunes movies OK although someone had a problem. There is a thread on that somewhere.
VLC – again someone had some probs with this and there is a thread. iirc they got it sorted.
Open Office – should be fine.
FM – again there is a thread on this somewhere, iirc people have been enjoying these games just fine and there are a few hints and tips on getting the resolution right. One person reported a crash with one version.
I have streamed iPlayer to my big telly via WiFi and my NC10 just fine. If anything is going to trip you up it will be video play back. Have a good read around and you should get the answers. Or maybe someone will reply here too 🙂
