This is my third Windows reinstall.
Each time, my Bluetooth and Battery icons appear in my tray for a couple of weeks then they disappear. This has happened three times now and it’s getting so annoying I may just sell this notebook.
What am I doing wrong?

This is not an NC10 thing, it’s a Windows thing.

January 30, 2009 at 12:27 am #181767lemmyMemberThis is not a Samsung problem, it’s something to do with windows. It takes 2 minutes to correct. There is no need to keep re-installing windows.
Go through the Samsung Software Media CD that comes with the machine. In folder BASW-01178A is a file SWDesc.txt which reports that the folder contains the bluetooth drivers.
Copy the folder to your NC10 and then open it. Click on setup.exe. It will uninstall the BT drivers etc and then re-install to bring the machine back to normal.

[/quote1233277827]I know how to do that ;P that is not the issue and “always show battery in tray” is checked in the power properties. I am an expert computer user, I have NEVER had this issue on any of my many laptops

try to check you haven’t turned on show UPnP device in Network Places
[/quote1233280157]THAT WAS IT!
Why? I’ve always shown UPnP devices because myself and my two neighbors split a very very fat fiber connection. We have consoles and media servers and etc running and I don’t ever think this has been a problem for me in the past
THANK YOU. What’s your PayPal address so I can send you $5!

January 31, 2009 at 10:53 am #181768lemmyMemberKenton thought it was a Windows problem. You try to help and get a bad tempered reply.
You have been thanked 6 times here, he has no thanks against his name. I wonder why?January 31, 2009 at 11:24 am #181761MattJessopMemberHe’s American – say no more 😛

😀January 31, 2009 at 3:14 pm #181769lemmyMemberI wonder why so many Americans (not all, by any means) are so sore headed? It seems to be a sort of insecurity, like they always have to know best.
Then you think, well why do they need advice, then?January 31, 2009 at 4:45 pm #181772GassyMemberThanks for this posting about icons. I did the same thing and wondered why icons were suddenly absent. Maybe it needs more publicity as a potential problem.
