MemberLet me explain my gist–I’ve had a traditional notebook for several years now, and I’ve developed a one-handed approach to using the touchpad. With the NC10, however, that approach feels pretty awkward. I’ve been using my new netbook for about a day now, and just now I was surprised to discover that I had migrated–without even thinking about it–into a two-handed approach (one hand to navigate the touchpad and the other to click the buttons), with both my thumbs nestled under the edge of the body where it slopes down in front. It almost appears as though Samsung designed the NC10 so you could do this–if the front didn’t slope down that way, it would be awkward. As it is, it’s a good place to put my thumbs, and it’s even curved so as to allow the digit to mold right into the space. Very ergonomic.
So now that I’ve explained why this just occurred to me, I’m just wondering how everybody else is adjusting to the form factor. How (if you do) do you interface with the touchpad? One handed or two handed? And, has anybody else discovered the thumb thing?

MemberOne handed – I use one finger to move the pointer, the same finger to tap (same as left button click) and another finger to press the right button as required.
Typing unfortunately needs one finger from each hand!

MemberI use the tips of my forefingers on the trackpad but try to be keyboard only where I can. Tend to tap the pad rather than click the buttons. If it’s on my desk I confess I plug my old mouse into it!

[/quote1228250682]I am impressed, I make enough typos with two fingers so I didn’t even bother trying three!

MemberI touchtype on the keyboard and use one finger on the touchpad. I also prefer to tap the pad rather than use the left button.
Most of the time I have my mouse hooked up though.

MemberWell, I have interacted exactly the same way with my Sammy. But after changing the touchpad app to 2 finger scroll I am using the one-handed approach again 🙂
